General Stores & Occasional Driving Person

Reportable to the Warehouse Manager.
Duties will include helping with all receipts, inventory control, preparation, packing and shipping of materials required in support of Howcroft Group customer requirements. The Stores person will also help with ensuring that the premises are safe and tidy to ensure the effectiveness of operations. The Stores person will be immediately reportable to the Warehouse Manager who will organise and oversee general daily duties. The Stores person will also be expected to help in the embroidery & printing division (all training will be provided). A full driver’s license will also be needed as from time to time the job role will include taking urgent deliveries to customers.

Full-time, Permanent (subject to 6 months probationary period)
Salary:
Starting at £28,000
Work Schedule:
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm (unpaid 1 hour lunch)
Responsibilities
- Help with all aspects of the stores from the receipt of materials through to shipment to customers
- Taking deliveries and ensuring that equipment is stored, handled, and issued in a timely process and in accordance with company processes.
- Conduct quality checks of inbound and outgoing equipment.
- Pick, package and ensure timely dispatch of orders.
- Prepare shipping documents including packing lists, and delivery notes.
- General day to day duties in the printing & embroidery room.
- Backup driver.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment by at all times maintaining a well organised clean and orderly work area, exercising proper care of both equipment and material.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement. to ensure the company goals are achieved.
Must Have
- UK Driver’s licence.
- Warehouse/stores experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and a willingness to learn and improve.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Previous experience of Odoo / Opera software packages
